MakeUp Minute with RIta {Ottawa Photography}
The incredibly talented Rita from Flawless Creations has written a little article about the importance of having your make-up professionally done... ENJOY!
-----
If you want to maximize the results of your photo shoot, it is essential to consider hiring a makeup artist.
Blank Canvas: the most important part of a professional make up application is the priming of the face before applying color. The makeup artist will even out the skin tone and hide any blemishes that might stand out in a photograph.
Color: Once the face is primed and ready for color, the makeup artist will apply the right colors for the occasions. For example, burgundy and wine shades show best on black and white pictures.
He or she will know to avoid the use of glitter, and to minimize the application of powders on “mature” skin.
A great makeup artist will always ask what the client is comfortable with (unless it is for a magazine! models don’t get much say) in terms of makeup. The goal is to embellish the already possessed beauty and to make the client feel comfortable and confident.
So, whether or not you wear makeup regularly, it is always a good call to hire a makeup artist.
Reminder: Boudoir Marathon on April 24th, 2010 - there are only a few spots left!

Eric LIKES Kim {Ottawa Engagement Photography}
We got together a cold (COLD) day in March to shoot their engagement session in Wakefield, QC. To our surprise and delight, Kim and Eric put together 3 different outfits and even scouted out the locations - all we had to do was follow behind them and then shoot.
Kim's parents own 100 acres of land - so many options - barns, tractors, horses... WOW!
I must admit... I was a little scared of the horses. They were HUGE and despite being very friendly there were HUGE... lol... and they wanted to be in the pictures... we have several shots of the horses, sniffing, tugging or nudging the couple as we were shooting their session.
What a beautiful couple - so much fun! We spent 4 hours with them in Wakefield.
We are looking forward to shooting their wedding in September 2010.
